Councillor for Willenhall North

Rob Larden is a dedicated councillor representing the Willenhall North ward on Walsall Council, having been elected on May 9, 2022. He is a member of the Conservative Party and has been actively involved in various council activities and committees since his election​ (Walsall Council CMIS)​​ (Willenhall)​.

Councillor Larden serves on several committees, including the Audit Committee, the Economy and Environment Overview and Scrutiny Committee, and the Standards Committee. His involvement in these committees highlights his commitment to maintaining transparency, accountability, and environmental sustainability within the council's operations​ (Walsall Council CMIS)​.

In addition to his committee work, Councillor Larden is engaged with the community through his role in local governance, addressing issues and representing the interests of his constituents in Willenhall North. Councillor Rob Larden has lobbied the council to replace the road sign on Harlech Road with a brand new one after the previous sign fell into disrepair. The new sign has now been installed making it clear for road users and smartening up the area.

Children plant an orchard in New Invention

This week the children from Beacon Primary School have planted ten fruit trees on the New Invention Community Green!

There is a selection of apple, plums, and a variety called Chinese Hawthorn. The children have named each tree and in a few years time they’ll start producing fruit.

Roundabout Resurfaced at Essington Road and Lichfield Road Junction

The roundabout at the junction of Essington Road and Lichfield Road has now been resurfaced after local Councillor Rob Larden's request to Walsall Council. As frequent road users in the area will know, the roundabout often gets damaged by the amount of traffic, including HGVs and Buses.

Action on Nottingham Drive

We took ownership of the land around the shops recently, and whilst it has now been improved with a new car park and road surfacing, we have had repeated fly-tipping take place. Despite enforcement investigations last year and warnings, this was still taking place.
