As part of Keep Britain Tidy's Great British Spring Clean campaign, your local Conservative team headed onto Stroud Avenue in Short Heath to carry out one of their regular litter picks.
Along with local MP Eddie Hughes, Councillors Josh Whitehouse, Sarah-Jane Cooper, Adam Hicken and Oliver Butler headed out with volunteers to litter pick the park. Fewer bags were needed as we are finally getting on top of the litter and fly-tipping in the area.
In previous years, we may have collected twenty to thirty bags of litter and had to carry furniture and other bulky objects which had been fly-tipped. This time we collected ten bags and we had to cover an area larger than we usually do to get those! It is great to see things are getting better in this area and we will continue to do regular litter picks in the area to make sure the area is kept on top of.
