We have joined forces with Walsall Council and local residents to tackle the blight of litter and fly-tipping across Walsall. In support of the Great British Spring Clean campaign by Keep Britain Tidy, Councillors Adam Hicken, Oliver Butler, Stacie Elson and Joshua Whitehouse joined volunteers to tidy up the New Invention area. Local MP Eddie Hughes also took part in the efforts and thanked those who gave their time to volunteer.
People split up into groups and cleaned up around The Square, part of Essington Road, along Lichfield Road and into some neighbouring streets. Together they collected thirty bags of litter and a number of items that had been fly-tipped, including some mattress springs.
