Councillor Stacie Elson represents the Willenhall North ward on Walsall Council, having been elected on May 11, 2021. She is a member of the Conservative Party and has a background as a trade union representative. Stacie has been actively involved in local governance and community improvement since her election.
As the Portfolio Holder for Children’s Services, Councillor Elson has been a strong advocate for children's welfare and education. She has been instrumental in launching and promoting various initiatives, including the Family Hubs programme, which aims to provide comprehensive support for children and families across Walsall. These hubs offer services ranging from mental health support to parenting classes, ensuring that families receive the help they need at critical stages of their children's development.
Councillor Elson has also been involved in efforts to support care leavers and improve the outcomes for young people transitioning out of the social care system. She has highlighted the importance of understanding the unique challenges faced by these young individuals and has been committed to enhancing the support structures available to them.
