This week the children from Beacon Primary School have planted ten fruit trees on the New Invention Community Green!
There is a selection of apple, plums, and a variety called Chinese Hawthorn. The children have named each tree and in a few years time they’ll start producing fruit.
We would like to thank everyone who helped to make this happen including Karen and the staff from the school for allowing us to work with them in organising this activity, Emma from Walsall Council who helped submit the bid and get the land ready, Sam from The Tree Council for the donation of the trees from their Golden Orchard project, and our tree warden volunteers for their assistance.
