It was great to show Andy Street the work we have done to improve the shopping area on Nottingham Drive. This area was left neglected for over a decade, leading to rubbish being dumped, damage to the forecourt, and a lower quality of life for local residents.
It’s been a long fight to get this sorted, but now the council own the land, have installed a new car park, have tidied up the mess, and now have powers to tackle those who dump rubbish.
If you live in the area then you may have seen the barrier being repainted, and investigation tape marking rubbish to be inspected. We now search the waste dumped to identify the owners so that fines can be issued.
Whilst there is more to be done, it is a positive first step to restoring this area into something local people can enjoy.
